Is Context Between Dog’s Health and Water?

When it comes to the water’s role in health, we know that no live organism can exist, operate without water. That’s how it is, an instance of that is that the water is the main component of the human body. An adult human’s body contains around 60-70% water. For example, if one weights 176 pounds, his body contains about 14,3 gal water. Well, you may find similar rates in our dogs, too. So, there is a straight context between dog’s health and the water.

Water Needs

dog-drinks-waterAs researchers have shown, your family dog’s physique comprises around of 70% water. By losing all the fats and 50% of protein of its body has less impact than he cannot get water for two days or more. It can be fatal for him if the water in your canine’s body is reduced to one tenth.

With a view to survive, an adult canine requires – at a minimum – two milliliters of water projected to each pound weight daily. That’s when considering 1 ounce contains 30 milliliters of water. However, that two milliliters are only enough for your animal to produce urine within his body.

Importance of Water

Without sufficient water vital for urine providing, your family dog or whatever canine won’t be able to live. When you are providing an infinite amount of water, your canine will consume a lot more than that two millimeters required. That is particularly true if you always provide fresh water to him.

Handing your doggie merely the smallest amount of water each day could also be sufficient for him to outlive, although not for long. Shortage in water injures the system and terminates its functions progressively. He’ll ultimately become weak, come down with a disease, and decease.

Water Utilizing Ways In Dog’s Body

The advantage of providing your family dog enough water compared to the smallest amount wanted is that its system can use that multi-mode (just like in humans).

1) The water facilitates the digesting and the process of taking nutrients from the food.

2) Our dog’s system is using the water to eliminate fuel, and that is transformed into energy.

3) You can more easily sustain the standard temperature of your dog’s physique by ingesting enough water as well.

4) Consuming sufficient water replaces the fluids which might be lost in our dog’s body by excretion.

5) The water also requires to mix various kinds of chemical substances within dog’s systems. Namely, the distinct chemical reactions ensure the dissolving and remodeling those components.

6) The water also is a transport device at the same time. It takes the nutrients to the cellular structures and in addition carries poisonous waste material from the cells to the organs for correct processing. With the lack of water, these organs won’t be able to eliminate toxic things off of the dog’s body.

7) In addition, the water is required to control the acid balance within the blood flow.

8) You may know the evergreen saying goes something like “Beauty comes from inside.” This applies to our dog’s mental health as well. Namely, if he or she is happy, and balanced, the vitality is radiating from every pore. That’s can be seen through its eyes, skin, nail, and hair condition too. And the sufficient water consumption has a big role in that as well.

My Take on It

Perhaps you can perceive from the above that the water is nearly always necessary for each function occurs within your favorite’s body. And as a result of its versatility plus the degree to which it’s utilized, water is regarded to be a crucial nutrient that’s needed for all kinds of dogs.

If your animal doesn’t get to water s/he can be died within a few days because of its dehydration. However, he can withstand the starvation; he will only be caught up by the fate when he runs out half its original weight. It’s obvious, there is a significant difference between the consequences of the lack of the two.

So giving my dog anything to eat; homemade food, meat, dry food or canned meals, I make sure fresh water is in front of her always. Especially in the summer when I’m out for several hours, I put enough fresh water in a couple of shaded places to let her drink. I never let the water bowl being empty, and I recommend you to do so as well.

P.S.: By reading this article, I hope you gained some insight related the role of water in your dog’s health. The comment section is open for your remark or question, take advantage of it. Thank You!

Why Dogs May Make Bad Gifts?

Holidays are coming, and folks start to seek different things they can give as gifts. One of the most important aspects to understand at the purchase is to give a meaningful and useable present. Lots of people think that giving dogs as gifts may be a good idea. By using my own experiences, let’s walk around this stuff for a little.

What Considerations Lead Us to be Gift-giving?

We would like to give something that the recipient is really going to be happy with. Moreover, we also want to avoid that our gesture became just a waste of money.

Therefore, it’s advisable to know the personality and circumstances of the recipient. Because if we buy something that the recipient doesn’t accept gladly, then we gave a rubbish, and possibly at expensive price. Moreover, the relationship between the giver and recipient may go wrong.

These considerations are general thoughts of course but also can show us direction when it comes to dogs as gifts. Dogs are cuddly living beings. Furthermore – merely by their presence – they have the capability to cause us happiness.

dogs-may-make-bad-giftsAt this stage, why would any canines manifest as a bad present, particularly throughout the holidays? Maybe there is an error in our thinking? That may be very possible, and I’d tell you several reasons why.

* Maybe your opinion is that a pooch you found in a litter is cute. But, what if the recipient doesn’t share your viewpoint? If s / he has opposite opinion, and sends it back, that doggie might finish up in a shelter. (As I worked in a shelter earlier, I know how it is done.)

And there is a good chance that it could be put down, if others don’t adopt it. Around 4.000.000 canines got that fate in shelters yearly as the Humane Society says.

* Pets are a present that goes on giving, but additionally, they carry on taking. Similar to children, they are in need of accommodation, food, health examining, medicine, toys, and lots of attention. As stated by the American Pet Products Association (APPA), the typical dog keeper spends around $1540 each year on essential expenses, and $1,220 the common cat owner.

Lots of animal owners also go for insurance (myself included). That might cost 100s of dollars every year, and then the behavioral training hasn’t been mentioned. Consider the truth that your gift recipient may not have an affordable budget that enables for such a commitment level, in each money and time.

* Animals, particularly whoever has been neglected or abused up to now, may be in tune with new environs. Even those that haven’t been abused might have complications with children or various other animals within the household.

A life-changing action can be when you take an animal into a house. Thus, without their survey, you shouldn’t decide for somebody. You don’t know, will that big dog experience happiness within the tight apartment with no yard? Or, will a fresh kitten get alongside the dog that already steers the recipient’s house? Furthermore, is the recipient even free to keep pets in their flat?

You will find websites to decide what’s ideal for you plus the animal in accordance to your practice, placement state, and so on. Simply don’t get a quiz on another person’s behalf – you might imagine you understand them properly. However, there is a chance that you are wrong.

* Other than the financial obligation of a dog keeper, there’re a protracted-term time and effort required. Think about it, as I experienced, the average life span of dogs is between 9 – 15 years. As for the lifetime, each breed has been different. However, larger dog breeds are living in less time than smallers.

This is different from birds, because the larger the species, the longer time inclined to live. For example, a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo within the zoo lived 80-plus years as you can read in an artcicle of the Stanford University. All in all, keeping a pet is a long term commitment.

* It doesn’t matter what kind of animal you purchase for somebody. You run the possibility of the recipient (or somebody they live with) show allergic reaction to that. Approximately, between 15 – 30 % of folks have sensitivity to dogs and cats according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

* To donate a dog to someone’s child is the most dirty trick, I believe. You need to be aware that the animal will be the parents’ problem. The child will be happy for the doggie a half-hour a day while play ball and sprawling with him. The kid really going to love the pet, but it’s basically in 85% the problem lay upon the adults.

* The holidays – for many households – absolutely is an insane period stuffed with baking, buying, events, planning, and also trips. In the midst of that, how could anybody discover time to train pets, mainly a new dog? Ask any person who has ever brought up a puppy – it’s difficult even by the most controlled circumstances.

The holidays additionally imply plenty of sweet treats such as candy, which results in another downside: possible toxifying. The chocolate, specifically, is poisonous to canines, as I have said here within the article in April.

* Your nice thought gifting endeavor might develop into a nasty problem. Imagine the animal wounds the recipient, his toddler, or other pet? In line with a PetFinder article, 800.000 canine bites need medical help in the United States yearly. Vice versa, the animal might be shy and even scared of the recipient, dependent on earlier experiences or common character traits.

My Conclusion

Just between you and me, the gifting causes pleasure only for the giver in most of the situation. The recipient person – in the worst case – is forced to live together with the gift others chose for him / her.

To purchase or adopt a dog is a serious decision, a huge responsibility. The right of deciding on and take it up is only and exclusively belong to that people who will take care of the animal until the end of that’s life.

P.S.: Have you ever gifted animal to your acquaintances? What impact did you get away with the animal gifting? In your opinion, should a dog be on your gifting list? Please, share your experience in the comments. Thank you!

The Hungarian Mudi Dog Breed

Would you like to live together with a dog that’s a great hiking companion? Possibly, you want a canine which gets along well with children? Alternately, you’d require that your pooch live in peace with other pets (Guinea pig, cat, etc.)? What if I tell you about the Mudi dog breed that covers these requirements?

The Origin of the Mudi Dog Breed

Hungarian-Mudi-dogThe Mudi (pronounced “moodie”) dog breed has an attention-grabbing historical past, blended with some guess. Because I had Ficusa rescued male Mudi for years – I felt like to look after some things from the history of this breed. Here’s what I found.

The Mudi’s development as a breed related back to the European history of XVIII – XIX centuries. According to historians, the trade of slaughter and breeding animals experienced its golden era between Hungary and other European countries at that time.

People herded these animals on foot to the destination country – namely rail or truck didn’t exist. And the people accompanying the cattle were using dogs as their assistants. Evidently, these herding dogs had chance to mixing each other a spontaneous way.

So it happened that the erect-eared Spitz type German shepherd canines herded Merino sheep to Hungary. (The Racka was the original Hungarian sheep with a coarse wool, but that wasn’t suitable for all purpose. Thus, they imported the Merino sheep, because that had finer wool.)

It’s quite natural that these foreign dogs – while herded the sheep – felt in love with a Magyar herding dog, the Puli. These blending resulted in the Mudi dog bred’s evolution – roughly 300 years ago.

Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon was a French naturalist, and the leader of the Royal Botanic Garden. He discussed the kingdoms of animals and minerals in his ‘Histoire naturelle, générale et particulière’ work in 1773. And he primarily mentioned and depicted the Mudi as a sheepdog – in his work.

Furthermore, Ferenc Pethe (1763-1832), a journalist and economic writer was the next person who mentioned the Mudi dog breed within his “Természethistória és mesterségtudomány” (in English: History of Nature and Craft Science) book in 1815.

The breed documentation continued by Lajos Méhely (1862-1953) in 1902 as well as by Otto Herman (1835-1914) in 1912. Regardless of these, his organized breeding began later than the other herding types of Hungary. And presumably, this fact led to that people wasn’t distinguished Mudi species from the breeds of Puli and Pumi for a long time.

I’ve to mention Dr. Dezső Fényes – the museum director of Balassagyarmat, Hungary. Dr. Fényes took the bulk part of spreading this dog breed. He purposefully bred them in the first half of the twentieth century. Then he launched a few Mudi in a breeding animal fair in 1936.

At the same time, Dr. Fényes also submitted the primary standard of this breed – co-operating with Dr. Csaba Anghy. The Evaluation Committee agreed on the description, along with the ‘Mudi’ breed title. The Second World War thinned the Mudi breed largely – like other Hungarian species – so it was close to extinction.

The Mudi is a real working dog, almost relentless and the herding is in his blood. It would have been a shame to let this dog breed disappear. Fortunately, there were people who devoted enough to value the Mudi’s abilities and prevented them from that fate.

The seeking out the remaining species and involve them in breeding is due to several Mudi enthusiastic fans. Mr. Zoltán Balássy was that person who indited the new standard in 1963 and the FCI accepted that.

Appearance of the Mudi Dog

Speaking about the Mudi, I’m saying I like the music. The Mudi dog actually doesn’t possess a specific look. And its appearance is most similar to the soft flute music. Why am I thinking so? On my opinion, the beauty of the flute music lies just in its simplicity and purity.

It is known that the flute – besides the bands – also was the instrument of shepherds. They are often uttered it while guarding the flock. I was lucky enough to hear my grandpa’s flute play while the sheep glazing, in my childhood. And the Mudi is just like that flute sound.

The compact, harmonic structure, impish face, wavy coat, curly tail lends an unspoiled, natural appearance to him. Moreover, besides the traditional black bold color variations, he exists in white, cream-colored, bluish and flashy (marbled) variations. These colors deservedly take up to compete in diversity and spectacular of other similar species.

It has a well-defined withers and a short, straight back. This pooch comes with a cleat-shaped head, upright ears, mediocre bones. The concise corpus develops a top line which goes through slope. He has short, smooth hair on its face and the legs’ front side. The remaining coat is longer in certain extent.

It is important to all living creatures to see themselves and their own role in the world properly. A dog should know what’s expected from it in different situations, what is right and wrong behavior. Furthermore, it should be aware of whom to belong and whom to obey. It has to learn the proper behavior with people, other animals, and other dogs.

The Mudi is a rare dog, belongs to the herding group. This is an exceptionally intelligent dog breed, even its owner is often surprised by his behavior. There are other types of working dogs, which pick up a thing at 10 – 15 sessions in dog schools.

But, the most Mudi is perfectly able to do it without fail after only 1-2 occasions. He learns incredible quickly, because he watches its owner with its one eye and half-ear always. So you quasi cannot mess up him. Unless if you are too lenient, because Mudi soon realizes where the limit is.

The Mudi is so versatile dog that people used them for many purposes; hunting beasts as well as weasels and mice, guarding flocks, herding cow and sheep, and alert dog equally. He’s able to herd his flock of 500 or 1000 sheep on his own by co-operating with the shepherd.

Of course, if he accustomed to dealing with the rough Hungarian Grey Cattle and a cow want to combat, one Mudi isn’t enough to do the tasks. This is even truer in the case of the bull, where at least three dogs are necessary to reimburse that animal to common sense, so to speak.

He always likes to stay close to you, his owner. But, even in your apartment, he isn’t in your way, he hides not to interfere you. For example, my Mudi hid under chairs, table, etc. and watched my moves from there. He was almost unstoppable hanging on me, but wasn’t intrusive.

If it was necessary, my Ficus could lie in one place for hours. However, a low snap was enough for him to jump up to sit in front of me. He was waiting for a command with glowing cheeks and shining eyes. He did all activities with such enthusiasm that was incredible.

The breed takes a lot of movement needs. This dog can still keep fit not only our minds, but our bodies as well. It  loves kids, mostly reconcilable with other animals, cats too. But, if you’ve a male canine with dominant character, he might look for conflicts with other male dogs easily.

To avoid problems, it’s advisable to socialize your doggie as early as possible.

Keeping Requirements

The Mudi feels himself well outdoors where there is enough space to running around as he wishes. He isn’t very demanding type of canine; you can keep it outside without problem. The shepherds in Hungary are using it as their herding assistant these days, too.

This dog is a very loyal companion to his master, and prone to adhere to someone in your family. It is a kid loving animal, and you can experience the protective behavior towards your children in their relationship.

These working dogs are extraordinarily obedient in direction to their owners. They’re reserved; however, touchable by strangers if their master is present. The shepherds like and by some means respect their canines, but additionally give them as a tough life as themselves are alive.

This dog has a relatively short-haired coat and his shedding isn’t significant. The Mudi does not bark for any reason. Of course, there are exceptions, but, with proper teaching most of them decrease that.

This dog breed is smart and willing to learn. The shepherds train them one by one, and they don’t train a puppy or an adolescent or adult dog together at the same time. Because they all have to learn different things.

Nowadays, the so-called ‘agility’ and ‘dog dancing’ competitions spread, and many Mudi are the partaker in these, with great success.

About the Breed’s Health

When you want to buy a working dog – besides excellent internal properties – it’s increasingly important the health characteristics’ knowledge of it. In this aspect, the Mudi is between the luckiest. This dog breed is practically free from hereditary diseases in his homeland Hungary.

My Opinion

Who I would NOT recommend this breed for? The Mudi isn’t suitable to a person

– who doesn’t like to move,

– who isn’t lucky to have enough time and commitment to dealing with it,

– who seeks a real guard dog (but the Mudi is excellent in alert).

If you’re seeking a lively, agile companion and family dog, but don’t want to be a ball throwing servant for a hyper active canine, the Mudi can be your best choice. He is indefatigable in sports, games, work, but if you’re looking forward to relaxing, your Mudi is laze beside you happily.

Nevertheless, you need to keep in mind that this dog breed wants to be there always where the owner resides. That’s the reason the Mudi expressly suffers if you don’t care about him, you only toss him to the rear of your garden.

Of course, we mustn’t forget that the herding is the original occupation of Mudi, and he has independent decision-making ability. He isn’t a servant spirit rather self-willed.

So depends on you how you control him and are able to live with that trait. If you are able to find the balance with this great and intelligent dog, you will be happy for long years.

Tech Helps To Track the Dog Activities

It’s vital to track your dog activities to keep him in excellent condition. In terms of keeping it in healthy status you need to provide proper nutrition and adequate exercise, among. The correct ratio of food regimen and exercise can result in good health. Therefore, it’s important to monitor how your favorite spends his days. This is feasible easily if you can spend most of your time with him daily.

But, unfortunately, every dog owner is unable to do so. In case you’re forced to spend most of your time away from your home, you need to find a solution to perform this monitoring. You have some options like entrusting adult family member to observe your dog activities and walk him, or rent a doggie daycare service.

Of course, you will also want to know what is going on with him, whether he gets enough motion is required. And here comes the technology to your help. So far, there have been electronic devices to track your daily activity, like the Nike Fuel + Band.

Even so, that can be used for humans only. Yes, but what about the dogs?

Henceforth, dog activities are also can be monitored from a distance, thanks to the FitBark I came across through the techcrunch.com. If I interpreted the description correctly, this electronic device makes it possible to check realtime with a mobile app the percentage of your furry friend’s daily activity.

This way, you the dog owner will know precisely the quantity of the daily train that beneficial for your doggie. That’s an important factor. Namely, you don’t want he doesn’t receive the necessary training, but you also don’t want overworked him.

And it may occur that your pooch lazes all day. In this case, you’ll know you should provide him extended strolling or other activities to moving its muscles. Otherwise, he lacks the necessary movement, and that may threaten his health – as well as with us humans.

Busy people often consider hiring someone in their neighborhood for maintain dog activities. This tool creates the possibility for a dog owner or family members to observe their dog as well as the intensity of the daily walk or training. This way, it is verifiable the performed exercise how is in proportion to the optimal level.

The doggy daycare services also can profiting from using this device. They can give dog owners the possibility to supervise their pooches every now and then through the day. And that will increase the dog owner’s confidence towards their services, which is likely to bring new business to them.

Yup, FitBark is a high-tech dog bone. (Credit FitBark)

In practice, the FitBark is easy to use to monitor dog activities as you can see on their video above. You just connect the plastic FitBark to your dog’s collar, then pair this gadget with your smart phone through Bluetooth. Furthermore, you can integrate additional smart phones to it.

Consequently, other family members also can transmit data to the FitBark web server, depending on the attainability. And this information is instantly accessible in actual time and could be seen through the smart phone app.

Sometimes I have an aversion towards any electronic gadgets. Namely – besides the starter price – you have to pay a monthly usage fee. This device is an exception by offering one-time paying option without additional monthly paying obligation. Anyway, on their Kickstarter webpage you can get more info about FitBark and the order process.

A Kelpie Dog and Loyalty

The Kelpie dog is an extremely active, lively and intelligent breed. It’s obedient and gentle, and appears to us an inexhaustible source of energy. And these characteristics are coupled with remarkable fidelity and devotion. Here is an example to illustrate the loyalty of it.

I’ve recently read a story about a Kelpie dog on the online version of The Sydney Morning Herald. The title was “Kelpie kept trapped owner warm” and the author was Dan Proudman. Here is a short quote from the original article:
Trapped and hurting from numerous fractures through his ageing body, a defiant Herbert Schutz survived four days in the elements by bunking down with his loyal kelpie, Boydy, to fight off the cold.

And even when help arrived, three freezing nights after Mr Schutz was first pinned by his own car on his remote property near Rylstone, in the central tablelands, Boydy would not leave his master’s side until he was free.

Mr Schutz, 76, remained in a serious condition in John Hunter Hospital on Tuesday night after two neighbours found him under his crashed four-wheel-drive on Monday night.
This Kelpie Dog Story Touched Me

The story of this Kelpie dog caught my attention because I have lived with dogs for more than sixty years now. My parents taught me how to live together with dogs the harmonious way. After reading the article I pondered on that we – humans – are imperfect, and not a small degree.

You know, one of the inherent things of the technical era is the increasing longing for the nature. And that gets control over all nations, city residents sooner or later. The dog also represents a part of the nature to the man. And folks recognized that as the first pet connected to people since ancient times.

The inseparable relationship between humans and dogs is evolved for thousands of years. And no matter how weird it sounds – on both sides lay claim for specified level of support. And it doesn’t hurt if dog owners, breeders, we are doing a self-examination with sufficient sincerity.

We can state that in many cases, we expect much more from our dogs to be consistently notable for their obligations to us. However, in the same time we forget to do that towards our dog.

Besides This Kelpie Dog, Others Also Show Loyalty

The case of this Kelpie dog fits into the row of writings describing the loyalty and the immense secret relationship which can develop between human and canine. I’ve also read similar stories; one of them was about Hachi, a Japanese dog.

This canine was waiting for his owner to arrive from work at the railway station 5 PM everyday. One day, the man didn’t arrive, none of the usual times and also not later. He dead at work. And Hachi still went every day to the station and waited for his master orderly. Hachi was really loyal for his owner, although it wasn’t a Kelpie dog.

And I also have two story. One of them happened two blocks away from where I live. The owner of a dog died. She was a widow and lived alone – or saying correctly – with her dog. And, as usually happens, relatives, neighbors buried the widow.

Then, days later, it crossed someone’s mind to feed the dog. But the dog was not found. They were looking for it a day or two and then forgot about the doggie.

It was winter, and folks picked off the wreath from the tomb, later than usual, in springtime. And … under the withered wreaths – to their biggest astonishment – they found the dog’s corpse. That animal wasn’t a Kelpie dog just a mix but there is no doubt of his loyalty.

Our GSD as Loyalty Example

Fact is I didn’t have a Kelpie dog so far. But speaking about dog loyalty I bring up a personal example. I brought home a German Shepherd dog from a local shelter nine and half years ago. Roll was very attentive, loved the life, and took care to teach the house rules to our younger dog. She was a brave and strong guard, didn’t miss any of her attention.

We spent playful times together; she particularly loved the ball-game and rope. Other times we did great running threesome or foursome. When I got tired, I sat down with the twin and talked to them. And they looked at me and observed my voice tone. Life was good.

Last March I was bedridden, cannot go out to the dogs. After four days my wife told me that our Roll didn’t eat. This is not a problem for a day or two if dogs skip meals. Next-day Anna told me again that she didn’t touch the food what she liked anyway. I was in a fever but went out to them. She seemed glad to see me and sniffed my skin and hands for a long time.

I talked to her while stroked her head and gave a treat she consumed. Then I went back to the bed. Meantime I phoned my vet from my bed, asked him to visit my GSD. He could came next day only. Roll just laid there and didn’t care for anything. She got a shot, but my vet wasn’t certain regarding the outcome.

Next-day morning my wife found our Roll died. She gathered her last strength and climbed to our door. Tears came to my eyes. That came to my mind while I read about the Keltie dog which showed a great example of loyalty. RIP Roll.

A Bichon Frise Dog Is Favorite Always 2

Hello again!

The Art’s Contributions In Spreading Bichon Frise

Bichon Frise - deatil from Titian Venus and Cupid paintingI’m starting with this painting detail about a Bichon Frise. (The whole painting is: ‘Venus and Cupid, with an Organist’ and painted by Titian between 1548-50. You can see the whole painting in the Staatliche Museen, Berlin. Photo: Pignatti. http://bingweb.binghamton.edu/~eshephar/bichoninart/bichoninart2_p2.html)

The Bichon dogs were portrayed in a painting made by the medieval Italian painter Bernadio Pintoricchio, too. According to the researchers, strictly speaking Bernardino Betti Biagi (born in Perugia 1455, died in Siena 1513) within the 1400s.

The most important German painter, wood engraver and etcher, Albrecht Durer (born in Nuremberg 1471, died in Nuremberg 1528), also painted the Bichon canines as they clipped in the style at the time – when he labored in Italy in 1494.(The whole painting is: ‘Venus and Cupid, with an Organist’ and painted by Titian between 1548-50. Furthermore, let’s mention Frans Snyders (born in Antwerpen 1579, died in Antwerpen 1657). He was the Flemish still-life painter, as well as a painter of animals and hunting scenes. He was on the job in Italy within the 1500s as well. In one of his paintings, he portrayed a Bichon Frise dog, too.

The earlier mentioned Spanish painter Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (born in Fuendetodos 1746, died in Bordeaux 1828) also showed an identical dog in his works.

Roller Coaster Effects In the History Of Bichon Brise

Madame de Pompadour was an intelligent, ambitious and wasteful woman, the lover of XV Louis and lived in the French court. She was born in Paris in 1721, and she not only patronized the arts and literature, but she laid the foundations of the porcelain industry. Moreover she figured more and more fun things out for the French King.

She was always there, just where was needed – as the cynics said. However, she rarely released without her pet, a Bichon Frise. The French ladies were enthusiastic about it, and of course all wanted to imitate her. Among other things, this included that they wanted to keep such a tousled head “snowball” under their feet.

Later, III Napoleon was reigned in France in the 1800s. And the interest kindled again among the aristocracy towards this type. However, then the fate takes a sharp turn to the Bichon from after that period to the first decades in the 1900s.

People at the time of the First World War looked for light entertainment. So, this dog found itself in the street, as an attendant of organ-grinder or a leader of blind beggars. And Bichons entertained the lover classes with all kinds of tricks in the circus and fairs.

The new turning point was when after the World War I, four breed fans in France took an interest in the Bichon Frise. They began the controlled breeding as well as the development of breeding lines. And the breed became favorite again.

The Official Acknowledging

Bichon Frise portraitThat led to the setting up of the first breed standard on March 5, 1933. The writer was the then-president of the Toy Breeds Club of France – in collaboration with the members of the Friends of the Belgian Breeds. And the French Kennel Club accepted that standardization.

But, it not yet solved all the aspects, because the breed featured by two names: Bichon and Tenerife. Madame de Leemans NIZET – the president of the FCI at the time – decided to name the dog to look for distinctive appearance. So, it became the “Bichon Frise”.

The word referred to the soft, curly fur of the dog. The French Kennel Club admitted officially these dogs to the register book in the next year, on October 18. And the FCI is also recognized it as Franco-Belgian breed.

Are you perceive the oddity? The Spanish Water Spaniel successor dog turned into French-Belgian.

Based on the data, 1956 was the year when the primary Bichons, Etoile de Steren Vor and Eddy White de Steren Vor, have been delivered to the United States by Mr. and Mrs. Francois Picault. The couple settled in mid-western United States where Etoile gave birth to her primary offspring in the next year.

Two breeders also gained some Bichon Frise in 1959 and 1960, at two different locations in the U.S., so it could begin the foundation of the breed history in America. This breed settled into the AKC provisional group (Miscellaneous Class) on 1971st September 1.

The next event was in the breed history when it got official registration by the AKC pedigree on October 2nd, 1972. At last, the Bichon became the full legal breed on April 4th, 1973 in the States. And if you search the pedigree in the United States, you can find many Etoile and Eddy names there.

Many of his admirers may don’t know that the “Bichonner” phrase – the French term of pampering – was used in connection to the Tenerife throughout the reigning of Henry III and finally grew to become “Bichon a Poil Frise”. And their curly coat gave the inspiration to the last word.

All in all, the chance is big that the Bichon Frise dogs all came from the shaggy Spanish spaniels and throughout hundreds of years developed into the attractive breeds, they’re nowadays. As it’s also likely that the different breeders who elevating Poodles and Maltese have been drawn to the Bichon Frise, in all probabilities due to the resemblance and likewise, for the differences.

Stop Feeding These Toxic Foods For Dogs 2

Milk Products

I hear you and know, it is  tempting to give the rest of your ice cream or yogurt to your four-legged mate panting beside you, but isn’t a good idea. The milk and milk products have an effect in your dog’s intestine that may induce several days of diarrhea, with dehydration and vitamin deficiency.

Think about it; lots of 3-6-month old puppies are lactose-sensitive. This means that milk consumption will generate gas, and diarrhea to them. The acidic milk product such as yogurt is not as toxic for your dog because contains less lactose. The cheeses in a small amount are excellent for a dog’s diet because lactose isn’t in them. But, you should avoid giving the green moldy cheese because it can cause death in your dogs!

I use to cook for fun sometimes, and enjoy the onions in many meals. But, these plants have a relatively high N-propyl disulfide content, that’s the reason they are on the list of toxic foods for dogs. In addition, onions also contain sulfoxide, which together cause severe damage to the red blood cells of dogs, can lead to anemia, and can cause gastrointestinal irritation as well.

Anyway, the signs of anemia are weakness, vomiting, loss of appetite and shortness of breath. These effects occur even when dogs eaten either the raw or cooked onion or onion-powder. Occasionally, a small amount is fine, but a single large dose or consuming a little amount regularly might cause damage.

WARNING: Some people believe the baby food is ideal dog feed. This is a mistake, because most versions of baby food contain onion in powder form.

I use to give my dog peaches only when I fully remove the seeds from it! Why? If the apricot seed is added to the dog’s digestive system, it may trigger inflammation and permanent health damage. Not to mention that it contains cyanide, which is extremely toxic to either humans or dogs.

Raw Egg

I’m opposed the general belief that the raw egg yolk imparts shiny coat to your doggie. The truth is that the probability of salmonella and E. coli infection is greater.  In addition, one of the enzymes contained within inhibit the absorption of vitamin B, which can lead directly to skin and hair problems.

Raw Fish

The next one in the row of toxic foods for dogs is the raw fish, namely it can result in deficiency of thiamine (vitamin B). That situation can lead to anorexia (loss of appetite), then seizures, and death sometimes. If you fed raw fish to your dog frequently the problem can be more serious.

Raw Meat

It would be the best dog food if you could rule out the bacteria infection like E. coli and Salmonella. If your attempt to do so fails, you can count on vomiting and diarrhea, which can lead to more serious ailment without veterinary intervention.

I used to eat rhubarb leaves as pottage without a problem. But, the calcium-oxalate dissolved in rhubarb leaves makes it highly toxic for dogs. This chemical has a harmful effect in the functioning of the nervous and digestive systems as well as the urinary tract of your dogs. The consumption of rhubarb can cause tremor, nervousness, and kidney problems. If the symptoms are not treated in time, your dog could die.

Sugary foods

They are toxic foods for dogs because sugary products can result in weight problems, dental issues, and presumably diabetes mellitus.

I don’t smoke, and my dogs follow me in this. The tobacco comprises nicotine, which impacts the nervous and digestive systems in your pooches. It can lead to speedy coronary heart beatunconsciousness, bust-up, and decease.

I wouldn’t be surprised if – after the above – you would ask, what aren’t toxic foods for dogs? The commercially available pet food, treats fortified with vitamins and minerals is the most expedient. And between these, you’ll certainly find the appropriate variations fits your budget and the requirements of the health of your pet.  In addition, many homemade dog food recipes are available for you on the net, you just need to look around!
